It’s a slightly different process to jailbreak the fourth- and fifth-generation TVs as tvOS operates differently to the traditional Apple TV software.
A month after the 11.4 update 11.4.1 comes with some minor updates.
Over the last few month it has honestly been tough covering the Apple TV as most of the updates have been minor. The last major update introduced AirPlay 2.
Unless any new bugs arise, this will most likely be the final stop before tvOS 12 which is due for a Fall release.

Kevin Bradley aka nitoTV, has just released the initial version of his eponymous tool, nitoTV for tvOS. NitoTV is a package manager and can install and remove packages on your Apple TV 4 or 4K,
It will require a jailbroken device beforehand so depending tvOS software version you may use
nitoTV says for tvOS 11 is in the pipeline and will eventually see the light of day. You can download the nitoTV tool today and see the procedure to install it HERE.

greeng0blin is an Apple TV jailbreak tool for tvOS 10.2.2 firmware. Similar to Cydia does on jailbroken iOS. It was developed by Kevin Bradley (@nitoTV) and Justin Williams (@Jaywalker). As you may have noticed nitoTV has been very busy this week.

October 26, was the approximate release date for the Amazon Prime Video app. Although Amazon has confirmed the app was under development and coming “This year”. A Reddit rumour gave it a move precise date (October 26th at the earliest). Apple TV users would welcome the Amazon Prime Video app with open arms due to their massive 4K library when compared to Netflix and Hulu.
Apple TV users will have to patiently wait a more solid release date but stay tuned we will keep you posted.

According to reports, Apple is currently working towards offering consumers a “premium bundle” consisting of HBO, Showtime, and Starz. This would be huge since traditionally cable providers require you to have a basic bundle before the possibility of bundling.
As it stands, Apple sells HBO, Showtime and Starz at $15, $11 and $9 per month respectively and they are all accessible via App Store. As Apple is currently in the early stages of the process. But one can expect a “premium bundle discount” that will reduce the current price of 35$ a month down. (if paying for each channel individually)

Great news!
An Apple TV 4 jailbreak is complete and almost ready for the masses. Hopefully it will be an easier process, as many people have been waiting for a ATV4 jailbreak for quite some time. Previously exclusive to tvOS 9.0.X, this version should include users and ATV4s that have tvOS 10.1
This is particularly exciting since most jailbreaks are a gateway to many new applications (like Kodi), modifications, tweaks and customization.
As mentioned above, this jailbreak will most likely impact ATV4 devices running tvOS 10.1. The jailbreak was achieved using a kernel vulnerability.

Many users have noticed their Kodi and other non-Apple App Store installed (side loaded) applications has been removed from their devices following an update. When clicking on Kodi they get the “Kodi is no longer available” error message. The reason is simple, Apple restores all devices to a “factory like” state after all updates. Which means if your device has a “non approved” or “sideloaded” apps like Kodi they will be removed. So if reloading your apps constantly is something you enjoy then for you this article ends here. But for the rest of us, stopping automatic updates will stop Kodi’s removal on your ATV4.
